Temple has of 234 carved pillars, 9 ornate domes, 20 quadrangled shikhars, a Gajendra Pith (plinth of stone elephants) and 20,000 murtis and statues of India’s great sadhus, devotees, acharyas and divine personalities.

It is built on the river Yamuna and the surface area of approximately 100 acres of beautiful gardens, fountains and carved pavilions.

When it was Built

The temple was inaugurated on November 6, 2005 Pramukhswami Maharaj (Chief BAPS). The temple was completed in two years An estimated $ 2 billion were spent for the construction of a masterpiece Hindu temple.

Akshardham temple center has main monument. It is is 141-foot (43 m) high, 316-foot (96 m) wide, and 370-foot (110 m) long.
Main monument is covered top to bottom with carved details of flora, fauna, dancers, musicians, and deities.
